I have just learned the sad news of Art's passing and wish to express my deepest condolences to his family and friends. I knew Art as a burn survivor. His quiet demeanor, patience, generosity and willingness to share his feelings with other burn survivors was truly an inspiration. He made me smile at a time when I really needed it, for which I will always be appreciative and thankful. I will miss him very much. - George Lombard

I remember Art's gentle, contemplative spirit. After every meeting with him, I left a better man, one who had been heard and understood. When giving public testimony at organizations, he was always so calm, stating simply his concerns to rapt listeners. I believe he befriended many just for the privilege of building them up. Though I've had no contact with him for some time now, I felt I could at any moment speak to him casually about important things. His death saddens me terribly. Bob Hunsaker
