Arthur J. Lombard

I am saddened to learn of Judge Lombard's death, and quite surprised that I'm just hearing this today. As a family law attorney, practicing in Wayne County, I had many cases that were assigned to Judge Lombard. He was an excellent judge and one of my favorites in Wayne County. He was an honest and fair jurist, and a very likable person. His presence has been missed.

So sorry. My condolences to his son and daughter and grandson!we talked often at Fresh Farms Market in GPF and his family were the light of his life and his pride new no limits!

I had the pleasure of having Judge Lombard as a professor of civil procedure at Wayne and then appearing before him when he was a family division Judge. I will fondly remember the discussions we had over the years, about music, architecture, the Red Wings and many other topics. He will be missed.

I worked at Detroit College of Law when Judge Lombard was the Dean. He was always very friendly & courteous to us staff & always addressed me by my first name. He did a lot for us staff & made sure we were treated right. He was an excellent Dean & I always held him with the highest regard & respect.

Arthur was a brilliant, funny, and loyal friend. Most of all, he was a good listener
both to words and to music.

I was very sorry to read of Art's passing. I attend many meetings over the years with Art, and was always impressed by his kindness, and by his knowledge and dedication to the Law School and to Wayne State University.
