Uncle Pat will be sincerely missed by his Edmonton family. We always enjoyed and looked forward to his visits. He added a dynamic presence to our conversations that always managed to focus on the importance of family. He had a way to make us all feel special. I am Michael McKernan, son of Leo - Pat's brother. They grew up together in Alliance as boys finding adventure and fun in all the good and not so good ways that boys do. I have heard many of these stories - both funny, touching and real. More than that, they showed how important they were to each other.
I saw Pat intermittently as he lived a long ways away. I remember family gatherings, trips to Allaince on parade day, and a visit to his California home. I admired his intellectual...
