Ned was my first real Scientist mentor, and prepared me for Nobel Laureate Richard Feynman who continued my education. I might not be a scientist today, nor married to a scientist, without Ned. Beyond that, his first wife was college best friend of my mother, and this evolved to a multigenerational friendship deeper than I can express.

Ned was my mentor at IBM and will always be revered by me as someone who helped me in ever so many ways. His sense of the world and his world views were, and continue to be, inspiring. I will indeed miss him greatly.
