Not sure what to say?

ART WAS THE BEST MGR THAT I EVER HAD TO WORK FOR, FAIR, HONEST, AND UP FRONT WITH ALL HIS EMPLOYEES. I KNOW HE WAS ON TOP OF ALL FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS THAT HE WAS IN CHARGE. HE WAS PROUD OF HIS FAMILY WHICH HE TALKED TO ME ABOUT SEVERAL TIMES.

I have been Mr. Pickell's neighbor for about 5 years. I didn't really know him will well untill I decided to go ask him if he needed any help with his lawn because it looked like it was hard for him to bend over and pick up the leaves. So I helped him and he seemed like a very nice man. My sympathy to the family of Mr. Pickell.
Sincerly,
Michael White

Godspeed, Art!
Thanks for all you did for American Airlines over the years. Well done!
My thoughts and prayers continue to be with Helen, Karen, Jeff and family.
The service today was a fine tribute!!
Helen's faith is inspiring!!

Always a pleasure to make contact with Art at the many stations he managed. Enjoyed motorhoming with Art and his brother Dave.

I worked for Art at IAD for many years before transfering to DFW.

Art was my first supervisor at American Airlines in 1966. He was the Manager of Airport Passenger Services at DCA and I was a supervisor of airport passenger service. I had no airline experience and no prior supervisory experience. Art taught me discipline and dedication through personal example and instruction. He was firm, fair and even tempered. I adopted some of Art's management style as my own which served me well. It was men like Art Pickell who made American Airlines a great company in...
