Arthur L. Scurry Sr.

Mr. Arthur L. "PaPa" Scurry, Sr., 84, died early Thursday morning (January 1, 2008) at Satilla Care Center following an extended illness. He was a native of Ware County and had lived most of his life in Ware County. He was married to the late Vicine Wolfe Scurry and was the son of the late Edward Scurry and Ardelia Mercer Scurry. He was a former employee of Scott Housing. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He was a member of Kettle Creek Congregational Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Janice Ray of Waycross; four sons, Lee Scurry, Jr. (wife Martha Gail) and Larry Allen Scurry (wife Annie Jane) both of Blackshear, James Edward Scurry (wife Vicki) and Robert Dwayne Scurry (wife Jennifer) both of Waycross; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday (January 3, 2008) at Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
