Not sure what to say?

He was a true mentor and a living example for me. Numerous patients of mine owe a lot to this man, who tought me so much in so little time. Thank you Dr Steffee, Art, for being my guide Dominique Verhulst Belgium

Dr. Arthur Steffee influenced many surgeons in Belgium. His name is still used as a common abbreviation for spinal fusions now and then. Now retired myself, I still remember conversations before the digital era! You´re known in Europe Arthur! RIP

Art was a friend and will remain a friend.

Dr.Steffee was a beautiful, gentle giant & a long time family friend. (Dr. Steffee´s former wife taught school with my Mom in the 1960´s.) Dr. Steffee operated on my left foot (triple arthrodesis/ankle fusion) when I was 4 years old & when I was 14 @ St. Vincent Charity Hospital. I have walked every day of my 54 years due to his brilliance & ability. This past May when I could not bear any pressure on my left foot without pain & I could not get help from any dr´s in Columbus...I made a call...

Dr Steffee to this day will always be my hero. I was one of first patients for spinal plates. My condition was very serious at only the age of 33. I have led a very active life, even walking 7 miles every morning and I´m now 72. RIP Doc. Thank you for saving me.

I was saddened by the news of Dr. Steffee´s recent passing. While a resident rotating at St. Vincents Charity Hospital in Cleveland, I remember him as the consummate teacher, mentor and advisor to us all. He was one of those rare surgeons I´ve had the privilege of seeing in my career who never got "lost" in the operating room....always knowing the anatomy and facile with surgical dissection. He was an innovator and always open to new ideas (many of them his!) regarding orthopedic techniques...

It was an honor to work with Dr. Steffee at St.Vincent Charity Hospital. As a communications specialist at St.Vincent Charity, I worked with Dr.Steffee on many public relations projects. He was absolutely the most friendly, enthusiastic and cooperative doctor I ever worked with! He was brilliant, humble and a medical genius! My condolences to his family. Dr. Arthur Steffee left a huge footprint in this life. His genius and kindness will be missed. Sincerely Maria Tayek

I was honored to work with Dr. Steffee in the perioperative areas, both at St. Vincent and at Lutheran Hospitals. He was a kind, a teacher and great person. I will never forget him! Mary Franchina Kennedy RN

with you goes a teacher, a mentor, a father, a friend. Thank you for what you have given me that has allowed me to be the man I am.
