My daughter, Aleta, was Bud's granddaughter by his son Terry (Arthur III). Both Mibs and Bud were kind and generous grandparents for Aleta. Even though we lived across the country, they came to visit us and we visited them, both in Michigan and in Florida. We always had fun visiting! Bud has a fifth grandchild, Aleta Summerfield Copestakes-Parseghian, daughter of Art Summerfield III of Camino, CA. and Vesta Copestakes, born June 1985. Aleta lives in Forestville, CA and has two daughters, Destiny Taylor and Gianna Pareghian.

From 1978-82 I was director of the Flint Interfaith Action Council. Founded and supported by Protestant, Catholic and Jewish Religious communities, the IAC was focused on social justice in the city. I remember Bud as a friendly, helpful, generous man who cared very much for our city and it's people. He always had a smile. Sincere sympathy to his friends and family.

Mr. Summerfield was always very friendly to all of us hoodlums running around that old Flint west side neighborhood, very patient, a genuinely nice man.
