Not sure what to say?

I am saddened to hear about the passing of both La Rae and Art Woods. When you grow up, you always seem to remember the role models who were either very good to you or very bad to you. I will always remember these two wonderful people as being two of the very best role models myself and my brother had while growing up. La Rae was my teacher at Jacoby Creek Elementary, and she will always hold a special place in my heart as being one of the most caring and kind teachers I ever had. La Rae came...

What a great man Art was. I envy the time that I got to spend with him as a kid, and it was always nice to run into him throughout the years. A legend was born!

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Art's passing. He was always a very special person with a great smile. He was wonderful to and with the Jr. Bowlers (my son Kent included) and was a great example and role model to many. I appreciated everything that he did for my son Kent and daughter-in-law Kaci. Art will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Love, Kay Ames

Pat: My heart goes out to you and your family. Your Dad was my childhood and every other kids childhood that lived at the ball park growing up. 40 plus years and I'm still going to ball games when I can get home to attend one. You're in my thoughts.

Art will be deeply missed. His generosity and kindness towards us was invaluable. He was always there for the Jr. Bowlers (myself included). There are so many memories that flood my mind but at the same time I am at a complete loss for words. We'll miss you Art.

Love Kent and Kaci Ames

Uncle Art will always have that special place for me. His smile and willingness to listen and be part of our lives, even though it wasn't often that we were together. He always put family first. He will always be in our hearts.

Very saddening to hear that both La Rae and Art Woods have passed on. He and La Rae were such great people and did so much for the Arcata Community especially in that little world of baseball. We had such good times playing politics, Little League, cards, and helping the Woods family run baseball tournaments and building the ballpark. I still remember the bus load of people who came together for the trip to Burlingame to support the notion he could build the ball park. He made the most...

Love to all the family!
