Dear Brassfield family, A couple of years after his death, our hometown set up a Healing Field around the anniversary of Sept. 11. At the time, our only son was serving in the Marine Corps and in Iraq, and our hearts were in our throats every day. Our youngest daughter visited the field with her freshman class, and it was a very emotional experience for her. Please know that SPC Brassfield and all those that made the ultimate sacrifice were honored today at the 9th annual 'I Did the Grid' 4 mile run on Long Island, NY. On each runners race bib were the names of four fallen soldiers.
