Ashlee Charizard Emlaw

I just learned about Ashlee's death, and I am heartbroken. We shared the same homegroup. She was a beautiful and intelligent woman who tried harder than almost anyone I've seen to make the needed changes in her life. I know it was a struggle. Now she is free. May she rest in eternal peace.

Ashlee was one of the dearest and most special friends I have had in my life. She was compassionate, kind, funny, silly, patient, loyal, and absolutely brilliant. I loved talking about philosophy with her and will always seek conclusion to the arguments we never settled (though from looking at our record, I’m sure she would have convinced me that she was right on nearly all of them!). She always made me laugh, no matter my mood, and helped me to embrace many joys I never would have considered...

I was a friend of Ashlee’s from high school and was there for the whole transition. I’m so happy there’s a memorial that reflects who she truly was. This would make her so happy. I’ll always cherish the memories I had with Ashlee. She always wanted her middle name charizard.
