Ashley Nicole Creasy, 20, of Vinton, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2007. Ashley was a 2005 graduate of William Byrd High School. She excelled in academics as an honor student. She participated in gymnastics and especially loved cheerleading, where she made the varsity cheerleading squad her freshman year. During her high school career, her cheerleading squad won two state championships. She was recently attending Virginia Western Community College, where she was preparing to pursue a career in the medical field. Ashley was preceded in death by her fiance, Eric Wayne Brown. She is survived by her parents, Mark and Michelle Creasy; one brother, Dirk Creasy; her maternal grandfather, Gilmer E. Martin and his wife, Jean; two special aunts, Cindy Bryan and husband, Tom and Karen Wright and husband, Edwin; two cousins, Andy Bryan and Samantha Wright and many friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2007, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. David A Kirk officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, November 9, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.
