Astrud Gilberto was the Third World's and one of the world's greatest women and easy-listening singers. She was very great and really relaxing and I really loved her music and songs which is one of the greatest contributions to the entire world because they are very beautiful art and very relaxing and they should be played and performed everywhere in the world!!!!!!

Fate brought me and Astrud together with a thud! While on tour with Stan Getz in 1966, she performed an outdoor concert in Skokie, Illinois. I was seated directly behind the stage. As she climbed the stairs in her seven-inch-high stiletto heels, one heel caught in a crack of the steps. Astrud tumbled backward off the stage and landed right on top of me. I caught her and broke her fall with my body, saving her from death or serious injury. In gratitude, she gave me a hug and a big kiss. ...
