Herring Groseclose Funeral Home - Walla Walla Obituary

Athena Brianna Bentley, Nickname: Pila, Paa Paa, Bob, Pilala, 15 years old lived in Walla Walla, Washington left us Sunday, May 25th, 2014.

Athena was born at St. Mary's hospital Friday, February 19th, 1999 in Walla Walla, Washington. Athena went to Blue Ridge Headstart, Sharpstein Elementary, Pioneer Middle School, and was currently a freshman at Walla Walla High School.

Athena was an honor student all three years at Pioneer Middle School. Athena was in the Pioneer Choir. Athena participated in Track, Volleyball, Soccer, and Basketball.

Athena liked to go on walks with her friends and family. The most important thing to Athena was family. She was the firstborn granddaughter. She liked to watch movies and she loved cats, especially her cats Sally Bear and Ginger. She was the baby stealer. She loved to spend time with her brothers and sisters sometimes acting as a second mom. One of her favorite things at the end of the night was to sit and talk with her brother, Anthony. She was always happy to talk with her cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Athena had a vibrant personality. She had a wicked sense of humor. She was energetic and had a contagious laugh with a smile that could light up the room. She was charismatic and was always there to help a friend. She was caring, warm, happy, goofy and a little crazy. She was a true Oakland Raiders fan. She enjoyed various kinds of music.

Athena is survived by her Father, Benjamin E. Bentley Sr. and her Mother, Veronica R. Bentley; her Step-Mom, Danica C. Bentley and Step-Dad, Christopher L. Corn. Also surviving are her siblings, Anthony, Aingeal, Jayda, Benjamin Jr., and Evan Bentley, Lidia Rivas and Aunalee Corn; her grandparents, Linda Nelson and Rick Olufs, Ruthy and Bill Elliott, Claude Bentley, Rebecca Highlander, Samuel Delgado, Robert Rosendahl, Mark and Kimberly Rodighiero, Penny Corn, and Michael Corn. Athena is also survived by other numerous loving Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many more people in our extended family and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her Grandpa, Mark Nelson, Uncle, Pedro J. Ramirez, and Aunt Shannon R. Elliott.

The Funeral Service will be held at Pioneer Park, Saturday June 7th at 11:00 am. There will be a private family graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Athena B. Bentley Memorial Fund through the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA.
