I first met Mr. Ivey in 1966; I was a student at UNC, looking for a place to hunt doves, and to my surprise, he gave me permission. For the next 40 years, I hunted doves and quail on his farm; I even went rabbit hunting with him and his old friends! He was a fine man, a good friend, and a real fighter; I last saw him in September, and he for the first time admitted, "I'm not doing that well." I knew then he would not be with us much longer. Wish I had gotten there again this fall.

I met Mr. Ivy during his last days here on earth.I am so happy I got to meet his gentle/whitty soul before he departed.I met his wonderful family and enjoyed taking care of them all at their time of need at ARMC.
