I wish I had looked him up sooner so he could have known that I respected him and remembered him and the impact he had on me, my whole life. I'm sorry for your loss. He was an amazing teacher and a great man. We are richer for having known him even for one school year, and society is poorer for having lost him.

I met Aubrey when I worked at the Pioneers Museum. He always had a sunny disposition and was an invaluable member of the volunteer staff, greeting visitors at the front desk and making them feel at home. Always the jokester, after losing his home in Mountain Shadows during the Waldo Canyon fire, he offered to sell me the burned out hulk of his Subaru dirt cheap!
You will be missed Aubrey! Rest In Peace.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. He was a wonderful teacher, and now that I'm a teacher I find myself talking to my students about Mr. West. Thanks for the memories.

Aubrey was one of the best teachers that I knew at North, back in the day. His impact on kids and staff was awesome! You still owe me a Brown Bess...

Mr. West was one of my favorite teachers at Palmer High School. He helped me take two AP history tests. He had a passion for history. Which helped me to love history as well. Condolences to his family he will be greatly missed. He influenced many people through his teaching and his life.

One of the finest human beings I've ever had the pleasure to know. You will be missed my friend. May you find peace as you cross country ski your way into the great beyond.

Mr. West is the reason I got to nationals in History Day, and the reason I became a social scientist. He showed me how amazing it was to study and understand social systems, and how useful it is to have historical context for current events. He was a gifted and inspiring teacher.
