Remember gene,great vetenarian

Gene was my mentor and inspiration. I grew up in his office both Miami Valley and when he opened his own. For many years I was his shadow cleaning exam tables and soaking in his knowledge and kind manners. After attending OSU for undergrad and Vet School, we talked and he continued to take care of my family's pets until he left town. I'll always have fond memories of Gene and owe some of my success as a Zoo Vet to what he taught me. Gene, here is a smile and a big laugh for you!

Such a kind and special man. Did not know him personally other than through his office. I remember we had a hunting dog (and family pet) who broke his leg. We could not afford to have his leg taken care of and my Dad told Dr. Wyatt to put him to sleep. We received a call two weeks later to come and pick Jake up. We said there must be a mistake, we had him put to sleep. He said, "No, I took care of him." That was so special to our family.

I'll always be sad that I was unable to attend my Uncle Gene's funeral. I have many fond memories of him. When I was training to be a Medical Assistant and had to learn to draw blood he had me come into his office and he drew mine and then I drew his. He was funny. He had so many different animals that we got an education just from seeing them all. I will miss you Uncle Babe. Lynne

I'll always regret not being able to go to Big Pap's funeral. I miss him.

Uncle Gene as I called him; I remember many times visiting the vet clinic.

His lobby was alway packed with animal patients. He new every animal by name without looking at his chart.

On occassions, Uncle Gene allowed me to sit in on many of his animal patient diagnosis explaining in great detail to the pet owner of what was going on with their pet.
That is one of my fondest memories!

I first met Aubrey at the Hawkridge Stables, in Waynesville, in the '70's, where he was the Vet-of-choice and friend to humans and horses alike. While I have sorrow in his passing, I will always remember the smile, the laugh and the love he showed for horse and the various dogs and cats that had graced our lives. He was what all Vets shoulld be.
