Audrey Jane (Swart) Abramowski age 92 passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025 at Willowbrook Adult Foster Care Home in Scottville, MI. She was born on April 10, 1933 in Kaleva, Michigan to Lee and Arta (Cutler) Swart. Audrey enjoyed telling stories of growing up in Kaleva with her brothers, Bill and Ken. In her early adult years Audrey had several different jobs that she enjoyed, such as working for the Kaleva Telephone Company and working for Mrs.  Keeler of the Keeler Brass Company in Grand Rapids. Audrey enjoyed music and dancing gatherings with her friends and family.


Audrey married Donald Abramowski in 1972. They had one son, Brian and they made their home on Linwood Road in Manistee, in the house where Don had grown up.


Audrey loved her family dearly and she loved providing childcare for all the neighborhood kids on Linwood. She enjoyed trips to the beach, with her family and friends, and holiday parties in her home with extended family.


She was a collector of many things, including antique furniture, old coins, vintage toys and jewelry. She enjoyed trips to the Casino, the yearly Cutler reunion in Arcadia and watching Wheel of Fortune nightly.


Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Don, brothers Bill and Ken Swart, sister in-laws Leona Smejkal, Rita Myers, brother’s in-law, Ray, Joey and Harry Abramowski.


She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Janet Abramowski, grandson James Popovich, granddaughters, Katie Petoskey, Sara Petoskey. Also surviving is her sister-in-law’s Rosemary Musculus, Penny Swart, stepbrother Gary Albrandt, several nieces and nephews also survive including  Steve Swart, Audra Bailey, Laura Pax, and cousin Norris Cutler.


Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are asked to be considered for Hospice of Michigan or Willowbrook AFC Home in Scottville. 


Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee is in charge of funeral arrangements.
