Burnier, Audrey P. 12/06/1921 ~ 05/14/2014 SAN DIEGO -- Audrey passed away on May 14, 2014 surrounded by family. Audrey was born on Dec. 6,1921 in Elmhurst, Long Island to John and Mathilde Perry. She is the great-great granddaughter of War of 1812 hero, Oliver Hazard Perry. Audrey graduated from Hunter College in 1945 and studied under the medical-illustrator Frank H. Netter. On June 7, 1951 in New York City she married the late Dr. André Burnier and relocated to San Diego. Audrey loved people and living life to the fullest. She befriended everyone she met and touched the hearts of many. She was a member of The Thursday Club for 40 years and a supporter of Scripps Mercy Foundation and St. Paul's Retirement Homes Foundation. From paragliding in the Alps to hiking in Antarctica, she adored the outdoors and was a true adventurer. Audrey will be remembered for her loving smile, incredible generosity, and positive spirit. Audrey is survived by three children: John Burnier, Robert Burnier, and Karen Kianpour. She is also survived by five grandchildren. Donations may be made to Scripps Mercy Foundation or the San Diego Zoo Society.
