Not sure what to say?

Audrey was a dear friend and support for my mom, Linda Smith. They knew each other for 50+ years through Calvary Church and made a great Altar Guild team during the last decade or more. Audrey was always chipper and a great source for "news" about town. I know many will miss her energy and zest for life. Best to her family, -elizabeth rubenstein-

Growing up down the street from Audrey (Mrs. Byrne) was truly special. Such fond memories. Mrs. Byrne defined sincerity, kindness and elegance! Involved with so many activities and organizations, and a loyal friend to many. May I add, she could turn anyone's frown upside down with her positive outlook and beautiful laughter. My thoughts and prayers are with you Beth and Michael. Please know that God has gained such a lovely angel who will always be with you. Wishing you peace and love,...

My mother, Nancy Rice, considered Audrey to be absolutely the best of friends. When Charlie died in 2009, Audrey wrapped her arms around Nancy and helped guide her through those early days of widowhood. While I´m sure there were some tears, Nancy and Audrey were both optimistic and joyful as they discussed their plans for the upcoming week. There were church meetings, altar guild activities, a car ride, appointments (for Nancy) and always a plan for lunch. Audrey was always looking out for...

Beth and Michael, What a wonderful person and friend your Mom was to everyone. She will be sorely missed. Our deepest sympathy to you all. Ann and Russ Buckley

What a wonderful obituary, fitting of a very special lady. First of all, I cannot believe Audrey was 89 years old! She never lost her verve or her beauty. Second, I enjoyed reading the details of her life which I never knew - born in the north of England, sheltering during the Blitz, working at Gourmet magazine. When I am old(er) and grey(er) and I reflect on the people who made Summit and Calvary Church special, I will remember Audrey. My sincere condolences to her loving family and...

Oh Mike & Beth, I am so sorry to see this! Catharine was just telling us about her move (and your work at the house.) I didn´t know your mom well, but I have a very happy memory of calling her before Mike & Cath´s wedding when I forgot to rsvp for the rehearsal dinner. I didn´t even get the words out before she said, "Oh Ann, you didn´t need to call! We knew you´d be there and are looking forward to it." It was lovely & gracious - which can be a rare response, especially during a stressful...

A beautiful homage to your mom. An interesting life! Always thinking of you, Beth.

Like Audrey, I spent much of my growing up years on Staten Island, NY. When we were working in Manhattan, we commuted daily on the Staten Island ferry and met there often. My husband Dick and I introduced Audrey and Reynold and were delighted when they fell in love and married. We continued our friendship as we raised our children and visited each other often. Audrey was a bright spot in the lives of anyone who knew her. She lived a beautiful life and is at rest now, having served her...
