She kept us glued to our seats with stories of the Donner Party and the turmoil they went through deciding to go through with cannibalism. We visited the graves of some members of the Donner Party at the graveyard. She took us to Jack London Square and the Winchester Mystery House.

Mrs. Gilbeau was far more than a teacher to me. She changed my life forever after having her as my fourth grade teacher. I struggled in school and had for many years prior.
