"A Mother's Hug lasts long after she let's go"
Audrey Katherine Jepsen, aged 77, died peacefully surrounded by family and love on February 16, 2016. Audrey was born on May 6, 1938 in Dickenson Co, VA. The daughter of Kenney Amburgey and Phoebe Ann Amburgey she was the youngest of 16 children.
Audrey and her late husband Roy Jepsen left a life of farming in New London, Ohio and moved to Texas to begin a career for Continental Airlines in Houston; they settled in Conroe, Texas. Little did they know at the time that most of her children would soon follow. They called Conroe home for over 30 years.
Audrey worked much of her life in the Health Care Industry. After retiring from Cypress Creek in Houston as a Psychiatric Tech she continued Home Health Care for many years.
Audrey was passionate about gardening. She turned her back yard into a haven where her family gathered for all family celebrations. Her son Sam and grandson Joe were both married in her back yard. Audrey's home was filled with family, friends and wonderful food. She was an amazing cook and her passion for cooking was contagious.
Audrey will forever be watching over her children: Debra Clark, Eddie Sullivan, Terrie Mielcarek, Jim Sullivan, Sam Sullivan, Owen Jepsen and Cathy Jepsen. She has 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren who lovingly refer to her as feisty! She is survived by her friend and companion Bill McCarty.
A Memorial Service will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Rd. Conroe, Texas on Tuesday February 23 rd at 3:00 PM. You are invited to view our webpage and leave written tributes to the family at cashnerconroe.com
