Audrey Evelene (Snyder) Lough, age 89, of Upper Tract, WV, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV. She was born on January 21, 1935, in Maysville, WV, the daughter of the late Lyle Brooks and Wilda (Feaster) Snyder. Audrey married James Abraham Lough, who preceded her in death in 2009.


Audrey was a 1952 graduate of Petersburg High School and a 1955 graduate of Rockingham Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a Registered Nurse and had a passion for helping deliver babies. She was deeply touched by bringing new life into the world and often shared stories about baby deliveries with the Pendleton Manor employees. Audrey enjoyed quilting and loved spending time with her family and friends. 


Audrey leaves behind to cherish her memory: 2 sons, Jon Lough (Lou Anne) of Winchester, VA, Jeff Lough (Sandra) of Upper Tract, WV; a sister, Naomi Shipley of Inwood, WV; 2 brothers, Chester Snyder (Pat) of Maysville, WV, Don Snyder of Oakland, MD; and 2 grandchildren, Nicholas ( fiance Sarah) and Allyson (Zachary). In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: 3 brothers, Robert, Glenn, Nolan Snyder; and a sister, Mary Jane Carr.


Audrey's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Pendleton Manor for their compassionate care.


A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Lough Family Cemetery in Upper Tract, WV, with William Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the family cemetery. Memories and words of comfort may be left at www.basagic.com.

She was a true friend.We had a lot in common.I remember working with her on third floor mothers.She and a neighbor reholtersted my sofa which I am still using today.
