August Ugo “Tino” Bertolino, 85, of Myrtle Beach SC., formerly of Jeannette, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, in the Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach SC. He was born November 9, 1938, in Jeannette, a son of the late Ugo and Guiespina (Lesquier) Bertolino. Prior to his retirement, Tino was employed by Westinghouse Electric, Mellon Bank, and Mitsubishi Electric. Tino also was a firefighter and served as the chief for the High Park Volunteer Fire Department and a member of its bloodhound team. He was a former member of the Ascension Church Jeannette, and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Mrytle Beach, SC. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting in McKean County with his nephew George Peltier, family and friends. He also enjoyed golfing and his retirement job at Mt. Odin Golf Course in Greensburg.
In addition to his parents Tino was predeceased by a brother Egidio Bertolino; and a sister Gladys Peltier.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna (Lundell) Bertolino; his children, Toni Laskey (Bob), Michelle Thomas (Mark), Michael Bertolino (Chrissy), and John Beers (Angie); grandchildren, Brandon Laskey (Amanda), Jarred Laskey, Mylen Thomas (Paula), Mason Thomas, Dominic and Gianna Bertolino; Nick Beers (Melissa), and Makenzie, Kaeden, and Karsen Beers; great grandchildren, Jackson, Harrison, and Milena Laskey, and Thaddeus and Kallie Thomas; a sister-in-law Mary Etta Bertolino; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Monday in the John V. Graziano Funeral Home Inc., 228 North 2nd St. Jeannette. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00am Tuesday in the Ascension Church with Fr. Job Foote, OSB, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Westmoreland Co. Memorial Park, Hempfield Twp.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions made to either the American Cancer Society at bit.ly3OFT0aU, or by mail to Relay For Life of Westmoreland Co., PO Box 862, Carnegie PA. 15106; or the Smethport Regional Youth Trap Team, 2762 West Valley Rd, Smethport PA 16749.
