August Joseph "Gus" Heisler III

My sister and I have great memories from our time in Pines Lake. My condolences to young Shirley and her family, as well as Gus´. Being younger than Gus, I didn´t know him very well, but he was always nice to me, as was the entire Heisler family.

Long before Steve Martin started referring to himself as a "wild and crazy guy", there was Gus Heisler----my friend and the ORIGINAL wild and crazy guy! I, too, knew Gus from back in his Pines Lake days and as we all know, Gus only had one speed back then....but he truly was one of the nicest guys I ever met. I never met anyone who didn't love Gus and his passing is truly a sad day for me. The Heisler family was just the nicest, friendliest, family you'd ever want to know. It is so sad...

We primarily knew Gus many years ago in Pines Lake as Shirley's younger brother. We know his life was not an easy path. However, we always found him to be an engaging . athletic ,good natured guy and we chose to remember him that way . Our condolences to Shirley . Rest In Peace Gus

Gus ebbed and flowed through my family's lives, yet one part of his enigmatic persona was constant -- his kind soul. We loved Gus and Gus loved us. Our deep condolences to his dear family and friends.
