Siefker, August William "Gus", 77, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2012. He is survived by his loving companion Merilyn Miller of 35 years; daughters Lisa McGuire, Sharon (Michael) O'Connor, Kris (Timothy) Wright and Stephanie (Robert) Fisher, and their mother Barbara; sister Marianna; brothers Walter( Mary Lou), Paul (Claire) and Cletus (Vel). He was loved dearly by his nine grandchildren Sean, Ashley, Lauren, Christine, Shane, Katie, Danielle, Krista and Kevin and his great grandchildren Cody, Kara and Connor, over 60 nieces and nephews as well as Merilyn's daughters Michelle and Tracey. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert and John. Gus came to Fort Lauderdale from Cincinnati in 1948. He attended St. Anthony H.S. and the University of Florida. He served in the US Army, and was a dental technician for 34 years. Gus was a devout Catholic and a loving man. He was very friendly and compassionate and touched the lives of so many, especially those in need. We were all blessed by his presence in our lives and he will be dearly missed. Friends may call Tuesday, March 13, 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Kalis-McIntee Funeral Home, 2505 N. Dixie Hwy, Wilton Manors. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 14th, 11:00 AM in St. Coleman Church, 1200 S. Federal Hwy, Pompano Beach.
