I have so many wonderful memories of Dad. Once he helped me by taking me to a downtown bank and setting up a loan so I could purchase a car. After that I was perfectly set! I went on to purchase a blue volkswagon with a roof window, attend and graduate from college, and, of course, start paying the loan car payments. as the son-in-law to the late Pedro Garcia, it was an honor to know Augustine; I have fond memories of the wonderful conversations he and I had when he would visit with Carol's (the youngest of Pete's daughters, and my wife) family for BBQ's or parties. His insight and knowledge of civic and L.A. history was amazing and inspiring to a then new history teacher (me!). It was always great seeing him and I thank you all for the opportunity of celebrating his life with you.
