My favorite memories of Gus include Christmas church decorating, visiting at their home and seeing Gus' well-trained dog, and kayaking with Gus on the Huron River. What a wonderful and inspiring man!

Gus Stager came to Fordson High School in Dearborn in my junior year there as swim coach and math teacher. He was both fun and serious in both areas. I was a terrible math student, but I attended swim meets religiously. He made a mark on his sport and in the lives of his students that will last. Blessings to his family.
