Not sure what to say?

Aurel was my 2nd cousin,I never met herin person but she called me or my sister periodically over the years to stay in touch with the family in St. Paul. We learned something special each time she called. She was witty, wonderful & special. The St. Paul Scanlan's miss her.

In the 1970s Aurel was friends & worked with mY mom, Mary Douglas. I remember calling her Auntie Aurel and visiting the house. I played with her kids while Auntie Aurel provided nurturing friendship & support to my mother. Those moments of friendship and kindness have never been forgotten. Wendy Douglas (Anchorage, Alaska)

I met Aurel 1988-ish when we were co-housed at Marquam Plaza. Many years later we crossed paths at Fred Meyer in Vancouver. I'll always remember her super friendly temperament ,quick wit and spunk.
Condolences to her family.

Laurel was one of the nicest kindest ladies I have ever known. I'll never forget the phone call from her suggesting we meet in person since our children were getting married and we had never met. She had a wonderful sense of humor. I am grateful that my son was privileged to be her son-in-law.

A wonderful, kind woman who loved her family and made all who entered her home feel welcome. We will miss Aurel’s smile and laugh, but know it lives on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Aurel and my husband, Joe Marlia, worked together for many years. He regarded her as an unofficial older sister. I was included in social occasions and became friends with Aurel, too. I appreciated her insights, her kindness, and her humor and will miss her very much.

A loving mother and all around sweet lady. You' ll be missed. Tell Jesus hi for me. Jack kelley
