So sorry to hear of your loss. I was a schoolmate of his grandfather and grandmother Smitty and Gay Gates Smith.

I remember the first day I met Austin. He came into Walmart to induce himself to me, that he was gonna be my knew tech. I saw a shyness in him but also an amazing kindness he had. When we started working together I had to make him laugh as much as I could at work. That boy had a great smile. I'll always remember Austin, he's at peace. Smiling down!

Sending prayers and condolences to your family. Austin was one of my favorite kids I've ever had the pleasure of teaching. He always came to class with a smile and always did his best! I will forever remember his sweet smile and kindness.

I had Austin and his brother Cody in the same class as 6th graders. Oh my gosh these two boys kept me laughing and in awe with stories of their brotherly deeds. They both had the sweetest, funniest, kindest and most generous hearts of any kiddo Ive had in my class in 29 years of teaching. Prayers for this wonderful family.
