Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. - Lemont Obituary

Austin David Johnson, also fondly known as AJ, Ajax, the life of the party, the one who always had your back passed away on January 19th, 2021.  Austin had the contagious and cheerful personality you could feel whenever he entered a room.

Raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago, young Austin enjoyed life participating in numerous youth sports from little league baseball  flag football. He was an outgoing kid who could always make you laugh and always had a smile that lifted your spirits.

Austin grew up and became a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. Throughout college, Austin’s infectious energy gained him many friends and unforgettable memories. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and cherished the brotherhood it brought him long after graduation.

After college, Austin found his career path in sales.  If you knew Austin, you had the wonderful opportunity to see just how talkative he could be and the amazing listener he was, making sales a successful career path.

Austin loved sports, movies/television, music, Whiskey, and cold beer.

More specifically, he was a dedicated Chicago Bears and White Sox fan who would always be happy to talk sports with you anytime of day—he was opinionated.

He could binge movies and TV shows with the best of them and had a talent for drawing you in with his
recaps, reviews, and detailed thoughts.

Austin’s music choices varied from pop, punk and country, to rap and rock and roll. His infectious smile
and dance moves made anything he decided to put on, something you wanted to listen to with him.

He was always the first to celebrate with you or pick you up after feeling down. No matter the day,
week, or month he was having, he would always be there by your side. Every high and every low you
may have been stuck in, his hand was held out to pull you up.

Austin’s joyful personality will continue to fill all the lives he’s touched. He will be so missed and always so loved.

Austin leaves behind his mother and father, Marsha McGuire and Dave Johnson, sister, Hannah Johnson,
stepparents, Dave McGuire and Trish Johnson, step-siblings, Delaney McGuire and Chloe Varsek, and
numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends he gained throughout his life.

A memorial service will be held at Markiewicz Funeral Home at 108 E Illinois St, Lemont, IL on Saturday,
January 30th from 2pm-5pm. Due to COVID regulations, guests will only be allowed in, in groups of 10 at
a time.
