Austin Jones

I enjoyed every minute I got to spend with my Uncle Austin. From the time I was a little girl, he always made me smile when he was around. I will always miss him.

I thought I would share a brief tale of one night in Cyprus, when Austin and I were both off duty. Living in Northern Cyprus at the time, there wasn't much entertainment: a film once a week at the consulate, not much more. Otherwise, before Kyrenia (Girne) was developed with more hotels, clubs, etc., much of our social life involved simply going out to restaurants with the crew, and we had a few discotheques there. I flew with A. J. during the late 1970s with AeroAmerica (Cyprus Turkish Airlines), although he was only in Cyprus, briefly. I was a flight attendant for the same airline. Always fun, he enjoyed poetry reading evenings and loved flying from the depth of his heart. He always had a good sense of humor RIP A.J.
