I met Austin late in both our careers while on a field trip to Prince William Sound in 1989. At the time I had just started fieldwork at Bering Glacier and searched the USGS files for imagery. I found one of Austin's 1966 photos, but nothing else. So, as we shared the boot of a Jeep on the bumpy road to Childs Glacier in the Copper River Valley, I asked him, “where can I find more images of Bering Glacier” ?
