Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Austin Nicholas Terrill on October 4, 2024 at the young age of 16. Austin was born on April 2, 2008 in St. Louis, MO and was the beloved son of Nick and Sarah Terrill. Austin was an amazing brother of Blake Terrill, a cherished grandson of his Mimis and Papas (Mark and Kim Terrill & Harold and Debby Bates), was adored by all of his Aunts and Uncles (Zac & Lauren Terrill, Clint & Ashley Terrill and Elizabeth & Ben Young) and was so very loved by his cousins (Abigail & Grace Terrill and Allison Bates).

Austin was a Junior at Eureka High School. He had so many great teachers that inspired his learning and was inducted into the National Honor Society at the end of his Sophomore year. He was passionate about all types of music and was a wonderful musician on the alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. Austin was a member of the Eureka Wildcat Marching Band, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble. He also participated in the Eureka Symphony and Woodwind Choir. He truly loved his band family. In his Sophomore year, Austin also joined the Eureka tennis team. On July 10, 2024 Austin achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was dedicated in his scout life and served in several leadership positions, including being a Den Chief for Blake’s Cub Scout pack. Austin valued and loved the friendships he made during his scouting journey. This past summer, Austin began working at Ace Hardware. He enjoyed his job there and was always sharing information with family on new items they were selling at the store. Austin attended Chesterfield Presbyterian Church. He was an avid learner and was growing in his faith.

Austin had so many talents and enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies. Music was a part of everything and he had the best play lists. He loved the outdoors and loved spending time with his family hunting, camping, fishing, and most of all, being on the boat at the lake. Austin was an amazing conversationalist; he had a dry sense of humor and quick wit, he was always willing to help out family and friends, and volunteered for those in need. Austin was humble, compassionate and full of grace.  He loved and cared so much for his family and friends. Austin will forever be missed.

Not sure what to say?

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. It feels like just yesterday I met you in Mr. Gentry's 9th grade U.S. History class. I knew after our first interaction that you were someone I could build a friendship with and trust. I also found out that we shared some things in common as we both loved God, fishing, and the outdoors. I will miss playing tennis with you. The Tennis team is unlike any other team as it isn't just a team it's a family. A family that you were and forever...

It is with a heavy heart that I offer condolences to your beautiful family during a time of incomprehensible sorrow. Having had the pleasure of working with both Debby and Sarah through the years, and being acquainted with Austin as a younger child, I find myself at a lack of words but compelled to send prayers, love, hugs and peace during this time of healing.

Blake and all of Austin’s amazing family- please know our hearts are heavy over the loss of your precious Austin. It was a privilege for all of us who were blessed to know him during his time at Ridge Meadows just as it is a blessing to have Blake in the very same halls. Blake- all of us at Ridge love you and are here for whatever you might need. I am praying for comfort and peace for everyone who loves sweet Austin and who are struggling desperately with grief. He will be remembered as a...

I kept putting off writing here because I was struggling with the right words to say. I then realized, the right words don't exist. My heart breaks for you all. Austin was a remarkable person. I feel privileged to have known him. He had an impact on so many lives. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of...
