Mrs.Whttemore has been a fixture not only in the Frederick city public schools but also in the lives of a many African American children. I worked with Maria for the past 20 years. She was always kind and had a smile on her face. I used to make her laugh and she would just shake her head and laugh some more. We had fun talking together working together and being together. I will miss her kind thoughtful gentle ways. Rest in peace Maria as you fought a very hard battle. Love Carol
