Ava Willard, of Mesa, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the age of 94. Ava was born February 2, 1909 in Canyon, Texas. After leaving Texas, she lived in Oklahoma, Wyoming, Utah, and came to Arizona in 1946. She lived in Ajo for 26 years and in Mesa the last 31 years. Ava is survived by her daughter, Frances Marble, of Gilbert, her grandchildren, Joan Burton of Bagdad, Sandra Jacob of Sierra Vista, Debbie Powell of Mesa, Cheryl Goodman of Gilbert, Rick Marble of Higley, Chris Marble of Salem, Utah, and Greg Marble of Gilbert, 29 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be held at Bunker's Garden Chapel at 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa on Friday, June 13, from 5 to 7pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 14 at 10am, (visitation at 9am) at the LDS Church, Hillcrest Ward at 2549 N. 32nd St., Mesa. Ava will be buried in the Mesa City Cemetery.
