Milo was my first Soldier when I came back from my first tour as a newly-minted team leader. I could not have asked for a better man, or a harder challenge(!). Now I am a high school teacher, and all my students know the name Avealalo Milo. I can never forget you, brother!

As part of my Memorial Day remembrance, I was asked by the "Mindful Memorial Day" group to carry Avealalo's name with me as I walked Arlington Cemetery today. As I walked the cemetery, I thought about him and all the honorable men and women who have served in so many ways to protect us and our freedoms. Thank you to Avealalo and all who have served.
