Avis Alexander-Boughes

Henry was my best friend and Avis was a friend as well.

Henry was one of my best friends as a child and Avis was the prettiest girl around. After Henry she once came to me and thanked me for being Henry's friend when everyone else disappeared. I didn't know what to say. I wish would have said "No problem, Avis he was my friend" May God Blessing be with both of you in heaven. Steven Baird

It is never to late, and she will always be remembered. Avis's brother was my best friend and after his passing Avis came up to me and thanked me for being there for Henry while he was going through his illness. I didn't know what to say to her at the time and never got the chance. God Bless her soul and family, although many year have gone by. She will always be in my memories.

I also attended high school with Avis and we had lost touch after graduation. Not only was a shocked and saddened to hear of her passing but the real irony is that I also live in Chespeake, VA and had no idea we resided in the same town.--joe biggers

My sincere heart and prayer goes out to the family, Avis will be miss. Avis and I were classmates at HHS, and she was alway the friend anyone wanted to meet. May heaven smile with her.

May God bless this family during this time of bereavement. Avis and I were classmates at Hillside High School in Durham, N.C. Didn't know of her passing until Friday evening. Family: Keep the faith and the God of peace will grant you peace that passes all understanding.
