Noell, Avis Anderson age 85, passed away peacefully in Edina, MN on March 27, 2009 in the company of family. Avis was born January 29, 1924 in Mayville, ND, the seventh of eight children born to Hagbert Anderson and Andrea Oleson Anderson. Avis shared a loving 46-year marriage to David Noell who died in May 1996. They raised a family and led a military life for many years, with postings from Arizona to Idaho to Mississippi to England to Michigan. They settled in Fargo, North Dakota where Avis lived until she moved to Eden Prairie in November 2005. Avis was deeply devoted to her four children, David Noell, Jr. (Jill) of Billings, Mt, J. Oakey Noell (Pattie) of Ottawa, ON, Laura Owen (Bob) of Minnetonka, MN, and Chris Noell of Billings. Her children loved her profoundly. She loved, supported, and adored her five grandchildren, Matthew Noell, Rebecca Noell, Hazen Noell, Kyra Noell and Alanna Owen. Avis' brothers and sisters and their families were a continuing, defining anchor of her life. She has one surviving sister, Mildred Abrahamson of Mesa, AZ. She was preceded in death by her other six siblings, Olga Kaldor Brumwell, Hazel Solberg, Hank Anderson, Roy Anderson, Earnest Anderson and Milton Anderson. Avis valued the many friends she made later in her life while residing at The Colony in Eden Prairie, MN. A memorial service be held on Tuesday, March 31 at 1:30 PM at The Colony, 431 Prairie Center Drive, Eden Prairie, MN. Memorials preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
