Not sure what to say?

Axel was a strong, fine person and we enjoyed his presence at our '54 HHS class get-to-gathers. All of us have fond memories of him. He was also well liked by the community and his co-workers. We all loved him and Gloria, and his four sons seem to be fine men.He will be sorely missed.
Patricia Counts Hunt class of '54 HHS.(Huntsville AL).

Axel was a classmate in high school
and when our class began our gatherings after the 50th. Reunion, he always came to the functions. He was a valuable asset to our group because of his open friendliness and down-to-earth manner of making everyone feel noticed and equal. He was handsome and had a wonderful smile. He was sincere, well liked, intelligent, funny, pleasant and a really sweet guy. All of us loved him as he was a good friend. He talked of his beloved family. I know you have...

Dear Mrs. Roth,
I was so sorry to be out of town when I learned of Axel's death and returned too late to attend his service. However, I wanted you to know how much we enjoyed his stories which he wrote and read while attending the writing your life story class at UAH's Lifetime Learning Academy. Everyone in the class was always eager to hear Axel when it was his time to read his stories aloud in the class. They were always interesting and we wanted to hear more. You will find 4 of them...

Kurt, I am so sorry for your family's loss.

Gloria,
I am so happy that I was able to meet you at the HHS 50th, and to see Axel once again. He was so proud of you.
I remember when Axel first came to HHS, he was never called "the new guy", he fit right in from the beginning. I will never forget his smiling face.
My hearfelt sympathy goes out to you and your family. God bless.
Janet Crabtree Thompson

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
Bob Farrell (Class '54) (Knoxville, TN)

Gloria,Jackie and I send our condolences to you and your family...Axel was such a perfect person and will be missed by all...May God bless you.

He is in Gods hands.

Dear Gloria,
I am devastated to read the news about Axel this afternoon. He and I shared many activities and interests including MSFC, the Marshall Retiree Association, Auburn Univ. Engr. Council , Auburn Research Committee, and many others. He was an outstanding contributor in any activity in which he was involved. I considered him to be a very close friend. I want to explain why I am not at the visitation tonight and why I can't be at the funeral tomorrow. I have just undergone surgery...
