Not sure what to say?

Grant was a man of renowned intelligence and integrity that took seriously sharing his knowledge and caring for the human condition with others. As a scholar, Grant had outstanding wisdom that he demonstrated in his OLLI classes and with his smaller Thursday group of "wise men." He always dug deeper into the subject while being dedicated to discovery. When I would stop by to see Annie, I remember his outstanding smile, deep love for Annie and devotion to their two dogs. Grant left...

Sadly, I just learned of Grant´s untimely passing. My deepest sympathies to Amanda, Annie and also to "the girls". My last visit with Grant and Annie was in the Fall of 2018 and I never did make it back for a visit because the pandemic closed the border to we Canadians. I know it is a bit late, but I think I will try to find an online version of the Canadian national anthem to play in his honour. Grant´s musical taste were eclectic and he often mentioned how he loved to hear "O Canadá" played...

My condolences, Amanda; as you know, your dad and I were good friends and colleagues. He thought the world of you, and I enjoyed watching you grow up in your earlier years. I’ve sent emails out to all faculty and others here in the Reno area, and have talked with Annie a few times. Best wishes in your future; I doubt that our paths will ever cross, but I do hope to stop in and see Annie in Arizona one day on one of my road trips to my home in southeast Kansas. Best, Ken Peak

I loved stopping by Annie and Grant’s home where a loving smile and basset hounds always welcomed me.

My arms surround dear friend Annie and the entire Stitt family. Grant’s life continues in his teaching, research, and values he became well known for throughout life.

May he rest in the peace he worked to create on this earth.

With love,
Sharon Rezac Andersen

Although I have known Annie for several years and had met Grant at the dog park, I really didn''t begin to really know him until the last semester of in person classes. He was a true leader. His approach was to presnt information about the issues and encorage us to think about the information. His classes were thought provoking and enriching. Always respectful of each of our opinions and nonjudgemental if he didn't share the same opinion.
We bonded over our talks about our dogs and I was...
