Not sure what to say?

From the short time that I knew Dean, I discovered what an awesome husband, father and papa he was. The last time that I was able to spend with him, it was at the Shaver cabin. I saw the extreme love that he had for his family and saw how very proud he was. He sat on the couch holding Kellys hand and proceeded to tell me that he "is the luckiest man in the world". The love for his family just beamed out of him and I knew he was a man so proud. He has an amazing wife and two daughters and...

Dean and Carol and their family have been dear friends for many years. Their closeness and the love they share has been a constant source of inspiration to all of us who knew them. Dean had a special gift of making everyone feel special. His smile illuminated a room and he carried himself with great dignity. He was kind and caring and generous to all. His courage throughout this ordeal was amazing. He loved his God and knew with an absolute surety where he was going. Last year we had...

Dean was my "Brother of the Heart". I was very blessed to have known him for over 36 years. In these last 3 years he has taught me how to grow in my walk with God. He showed me how to really believe. On our last visit to church together the end of January, we got to the car and he asked me to read to him the last thing the pastor said. After I read it to him, in his very special way, he said, "That says it all". Here is what it was and it does say it all about Dean.

I have never met anyone like Papa Dean. He was an awesomely fun person from the day i met him. I wish i knew him longer, but in the time i knew him, he was great. He definetly filled the Papa shoe well. He was never about himself, which made him the awesome person he was. To me, with all i know about him, he is watching over his family and friends, and playing golf on the best course. And i cant wait to join him some day. I love you Papa Dean.

As an employee in the business that Dean started and was so proud of, he was always quick to attribute the success of the business to each of his employees. He always came to work with a smile on his face. I am honored to have known and worked for Dean for over 15 years. He will always have a special place in both myself and my wife's heart. We will miss you Dean.

Papa Dean Downs. He is my grandfather whom is one of the strongest indiviguals to ever walk this earth! He had such a strong spirit in the Lord, I don't think anyone could ever say otherwise. He touched so many lives when he was here, and I know he is still touching lives as he looks down upon us. I love you Papa Dean!

Our dad was an incredible man. He led by example and was not only a caring and loving father and papa, but a wonderful husband to our mom. Kelly and I were really given something to find when he provided us the example of what a husband should be to his wife. Our mom and dad's relationship and friendship was and is awe-inspiring.

Dad wrote me a beautiful letter that I will always cherish about how proud he was of me and how glad he was that I found Brett. He also wrote about how...
