Mrs. Futrell was a student-teacher in my 5th-grade class at East School in Gas City. As the years past our paths crossed many times. Mrs. Futrell was a wonderful caring individual. She was quite a lady. My condolences and prayers go our to her family.

Mrs. Futrell was my fifth grade teacher. She was responsible for making me want to teach. ( And, I did for 36 years!) She took several of us to her house for an overnight because she had kids close to us in age. She also had math races with us and if you could beat her she took you for a milkshake. It was magical. She didn’t hesitate to discipline if needed but you always knew it was because she loved you. I hope she would have been proud of the teacher I became because she was definitely one...
