I "grew up" in Parker Memorial. Gene was my youth pastor in my later high school years. Ive always remembered & appreciated the vast amount of time& effort he spent with me-& many others-gently encouraging us to "stay the course & follow Jesus". He was a Blessing to sooo many,! I grew up in Oxford, but our home church was Parker Memorial. I was in Boy Scout Troop 8 for 4 years, and this is where I met Gene. Later, while he was working at Parker Memorial, he approached me about my salvation. I told him I had accepted Christ as my savior. He encouraged me to get baptized, and I did. I will always remember his friendship and his dedication to the lord. James W. Bennett
