Obituary

Bailey Robinson

Decatur

Bailey Robinson left this life too early on December 2, 2011. She was a sophomore at Austin High School. Funeral service for Bailey, age 15, of Decatur, will be Monday, December 5, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Beltline Church of Christ with Rick Eichelberger, Doug Yates, John Cooper and Michelle Partain officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends today from 1:30 until 4:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens following the service.

Bailey passed away on December 2, 2011, along with her friend, Nicholas Sawyer, following a tragic automobile accident. Because she deeply cared for her sister and brothers, Bailey personified the term loving sister. She is most remembered as everyone's friend, known for her gentle, kind spirit. No ill thought crossed Bailey's mind according to one of her teachers at Austin High School. Her teachers also knew of her love and concern for her family. Bailey was not only known for her kindness, but also her exceptional work ethic in the classroom, on the soccer field and in band activities. Her life not only focused on school activities, but she also strived to impact others with God's love. She was involved with work camps to aid those who could not do the work themselves. She participated in the Houston Inner City Mission Trip last summer in an effort to bring God's love to those who may not know Him. She was gifted in her ability to work with younger children.

She is survived by her loving parents, Alan and Debra Robinson, her sister, Elise, and her brothers, Carter and Drew. She is also survived by her grandparents, Ray and Pat Robinson of Decatur and Don and JoAnn Pate of Montgomery. Surviving aunts and uncles include Kenneth and Donna Hammonds of Decatur, Tony and Lisa Giarratana of Nashville, Tenn., Alan and Donna Pate of Atlanta, Ga., Scott and Karen Brunner of Richmond, Va.

Pallbearers will be Clay Sloan, Nain Lopez, Weston Parker, Nick Boyle, Bill Cook, Chet Humphries, Steve Harris and Mark Waters.

Flower alternative includes the Auburn Christian Foundation.

Not sure what to say?

Thank you for your gracious card in the worst time of our life. Sadly, we understand what you went through. We spoke of your loss often at Church. We even talked about it last Sunday. We had no idea we would be in the same place in less than 24 hours.

Thinking about you and your family.

I've been thinking about Bailey and the Robinson family this week. I just wanted to stop by and tell you guys that we love you.

Debra - our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family. The description of Bailey's gentle and kind spirit makes me think of you as well - your kindness and personality always lights up a room. Please know that your friends are thinking of you and your family.

Dear Bailey. I miss you so much, And I know you would just tell me that God has a plan. And this is part of his plan. It's been over a month since I've seen you, Even though it was just your body, You had already gone to Heaven. I have to say God truely blessed me to have you and Nick touch my life. I love you girl! I'll see you soon! Love, Whitney.

Please accept my family's deepest sympathies in this time. We only now learned of your loss, but our hearts go out to you and we will continue to keep you in our prayers.

I didn't know Bailey - But I'm glad she knew God and we know that she is now with Him. I have a grandson her age and only hope and pray for the family to let God carry them thru this tragedy. He has a plan, for Bailey and all of us - sometimes we don't understand since "His ways are above our ways and His thoughts above our thoughts". May God bless your family in this time of healing.

I was blessed to be able to meet Bailey at the Impact Houston church of Christ last summer. She let her light shine for the Lord and was an example for us all. To the Robinson family...May the Lord Bless You and Keep You, the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Y'all are in our prayers!
