To Baine's wife, children and grandchildren my sympathy on the loss of relationship with this gentle man. His great humanity was displayed to me and Jim Leader one night in a restaurant in Washington, DC, when putting aside the stressful business of the day, he spoke of his continuing greif from making life/death decisions at Tarawa. In that moment his great positve strength of character was completely revealed; a gift to we two younger men. Thank you Baine.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Baine Kerr's family and loved ones. He lived an extraordinary life and set an example for all. May his survivors find peace in this hour of profound loss.

On behalf of my father, Frank Lake, I want to express our sadness and condolences for the Kerr family. Mr. Kerr and my dad served in WWII together and were life long friends. I know he will miss him so much.

I had the honor a couple of years ago to visit the Nimitz Museum and was so impressed when I saw Mr. Kerr's picture in one of the displays there and realized that it had to be the same Baine Kerr I knew from the Esperson Buildings. My boss is lucky to have the book featuring this picture and Mr. Kerr signed it for him. I know he will cherish it forever.

I'm sorry to read about our loss,I remember evenings in Hunt with Anne and Dave Peake visiting your place on the South Fork. I always looked up to Baine as a person to admire and respect
