Avid Philanthropist! Magnanimous Patriarch! Cheerful Giver! Kind-spirited Diplomat! These words represent the essence of who he was on this side but does not fully embody all that he was to us. What Mr. Griffith did in 88 years of life is immeasurable! His philanthropic acts allowed me to further my education. Each year of our undergraduate and post graduate years, he provided me and my two siblings academic incentive scholarships. Each of us pursued and received advanced degrees. We thank...

Beverly, My heartfelt condolences to Stephen, Stephanie, and all of the grandkids.
I am so heartbroken to learn the sad news of Balie.
I wanted to share in a few lines how I met Balie and his family. I first arrived in Austin to open the AVANCE - Austin Chapter as Executive Director. His guidance on the finance side of the institution to me personally was invaluable and made me feel at ease as the Executive Director. Balie was the reason that I decided to go back to school and...

I only met Balie and Beverly a couple of times, but their philanthropic hearts, generosity, care for the community, and love for each other was unmistakable. Sending warmest thoughts and prayers to the entire Griffith family.

My condolences to Beverly, Stephen, Stephanie, Anne, and Balie's grandchildren. I knew Balie when I worked at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Balie always had a smile on his face whether discussing his favorite charities, paddling down the river, or listening to music. He was a wonderful father and husband. He and Beverly passed on their generosity to Stephen, leaving a legacy for generations in more ways than most. I remember that he LOVED the Big Brothers Big Sisters Scholarship Ceremony made...

Thank you for your service to youth in our community. As someone who worked with the BBBS scholarship program I saw year after year the difference that you and Beverly made in the lives of the scholarship recipients. This wonderful legacy will live on. God bless.

Balie was one of my first mentors. I started my career in the first GCR accounting office in the 70's and 80's. Balie was one of my bosses, so sharp about business, while being so kind about people. He tutored me on both, and I am still grateful. I particularly remember him buying a silver Porsche sportscar, and when he saw my obvious enthusiasm for it, he MADE me drive it! I was terrified - and thrilled. I was not at all surprised to read about his wonderful legacy, sad he had passed,...
