Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Adams, one of my favorite teachers at PGHS ('74-'78). She never faltered in her enthusiasm and patience in the two classes I had with her, and outside of classes she was a friend, too. We all loved to talk to her about the Philadelphia Flyers, as she was a huge fan along with us. Mrs. Adams will be much missed.

My mother, Naomi Beatty, adored Barbara Adams. My mother was a PGHS secretary and district book-keeper back in the day. They connected on a "numbers" level, yet also had great respect for each other, with all the political stuff that can happen in a public high school. My mother passed away in 2005, so I understand the loss of someone exceptional and "one of a kind". Our prayers are with your family. I missed out on having Barbara as a teacher; I probably wasn't bright enough to be in...

My mother truly loved her career as a teacher at PGHS and she enjoyed working with her faculty and students. I appreciate hearing all the kind words from her former students. I'm envious that I (being a former Woodstown student) would never have the opportunity to be in her classroom during my high school years. Then, I pause and then I realize that I had the pleasure to have been a student of Mrs. Adams for 38 years of my life. I am forever grateful for her wisdom, love and her guidance...

Mrs. Adams will forever be in my heart and mind as one of the finest teachers I've had the pleasure to know. I will always remember the day she stood on a chair arranging a string of "points" on the ceiling to illustrate a geometry concept. She was always kind, patient, and understanding when dealing with her students and a wonderful example to this young girl (class of '68) of what it means to be a special teacher. I became a teacher and was delighted and honored to receive a "Teacher of the...

To the Adams Family,
I'm deeply saddlened to hear of Mrs. Adams passing. I had the pleasure of having Mrs. Adams as a teacher for 2 years in high school. I remember her enthusiasm for teaching and she truly cared about each of her students. My prayers are with you during this difficult time. Please take comfort in knowing how many lives' she touched in her life at PGHS.

Sincerely,
Kristin Martin

Our prayers go out to the Adams Family during this sad time. We have know Barbara & Bill for over 45 years. We only regret that we did not travel to Woodstown this summer as we usually do. We will miss her.

I am not sure exactly what I want to say. But I am truly saddened and I want to express my condolences to Mr. Adams and his family. I transferred to PGHS in my junior year and had the pleasure of having Mrs. Adams for homeroom and math. After one of my "bad hair" days, Mrs Adams made me stay after class. Instead of a lecture or scolding, Mrs Adams gave me some gentle yet powerful advice. I can still see her face and hear her words. I was surprised that she really understood what I was...
