Not sure what to say?

A hood and dear friend

Such a great lady!

Thank you for bringing barbara to us at Arbors and allowing me the opportunity to be able to help take care of her and most of all, get to know her. She made me smile time and time again. She is an amazing woman! I will always remember her. She is going to be greatly missed. Martha and Anne, i wish you both the best. My thoughts are with you.

Barbara's sense of humor was delightful but seemed best when she poked fun at herself. Who can ever forget her marvelous recitation of overcoming U.S. Navy rules?
Barbara had not heard from her sailor son on board a
destroyer and was worried. When she finally heard his voice on the phone she was relieved, but when he asked her
"How did you get through on the hot line?", she burst into spasms of laughter.

The saying goes "The Highest Form of Wisdom is Kindness...and Barbara was very wise. She never failed to encourage, inspire, or speak her truth. Did the lady know how to enter a room or what! She amazed me and scared me all at the same time. I told her that once and she threw her head back and howled!I'll never forget your spirit, or the kindness you showed me. She called me when she got this picture of us and said the only thing missing was a caption that read: BEWARE! God, she was funny. My...

Martha, and the rest of the Applegate family; Please except my condolences in your utmost time of sorrow.

To be sure, your mother lived a very full life, and touched everyone that she met. I will always remember her warmth, and engaging smile. She is now in a better place, and eventhough she is now gone - she is not forgotten by all who met her.

I was so very fortunate to meet Barbara because of my husband's long friendship with her. She was witty, warm, gracious, and as sharp as arrow. And she threw the BEST parties at her wonderful house on Second Street.

My memories of Barbara her came rushing back when I heard from Martha this morning - all of them so positive. I first met her when she was "dating" my brother. We seemed to have an immediate connection which continued long after their relationship ended. We always tried to get together when I got back to Ohio to visit. She and Roger and I had a wonderful trip around New Mexico on one of their visits to you followed by their visiting me here in Arizona. We just seemed to laugh the entire time...

You were funny, wise, and wonderfully edgy. I knew you were in the room when I could hear laughter filling the air. You will be missed by all of us so happy to have known you. Never to be forgotten. May you rest in peace
