I am so saddened to learn of Barbara's passing. I loved her smile and enthusiasm for all things Greek. We have lost her much too soon.

I am so tremendously sad to learn of Barbara's passing. I took several of her art history classes as an archaeology grad student in the early 1990s. She was just wonderful, and so kind.

I had the pleasure of knowing Barbara for decades since we were graduate students together (briefly for me) in Athens. Most recently she was my colleague on the governing board of the Archaeological Institute of America, where she was an outspoken advocate for professional archaeologists and academics. I will miss her, Elizabeth Bartman

One of my favorite classes in the masters program at UF in the late 1980s was Barbara's on Ancient Greek Art. Her knowledge and enthusiasm were infectious. My admiration for her only grew through the years. I will miss conversations with her, her radiant smile, the warm twinkle in her eyes and most of all her kindness. My field is contemporary art, but she always expressed an interest in my latest writing project, as she did for so many of her former students. She will be deeply missed.
